Mattoon has gone 9-1 against Richland County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Mattoon Greenwave will head out to take on the Richland County Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Mattoon is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

On Saturday, Mattoon was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 29-28 to Charleston.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Richland County). They walked away with a 60-53 win over Edwards County on Saturday.

Richland County pushed their record up to 13-11 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points per game. As for Mattoon, their loss dropped their record down to 6-19.

Mattoon was able to grind out a solid win over Richland County in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, winning 48-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mattoon since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
