Baseball Recap: Gilbert Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins at Home

After flying high against Hammond on Wednesday, Gilbert came back down to earth. The Indians fell just short of the Airport Eagles by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. The contest marked the Indians' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Gilbert's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-2. As for Airport, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

Gilbert and Airport should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings. The Indians (ranked third) will meet Brookland-Cayce (ranked 111th) at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Airport will square off against Westwood at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (28 vs. 135).
