Scott has gone 9-1 against Poca recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. Scott will look to defend their home field against Poca at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Scott has three straight victories, Poca has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
If Scott beats Poca with 14 runs on Monday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Scott was the clear victor by a 14-2 margin over Clay County on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Skyhawks, who have now won three contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Jason Ferrell and Ryan Neal were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Ferrell pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Neal tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). At bat, Ferrell scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Neal went 4-for-5 with one RBI. Ferrell has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Louden White, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Dent, who scored two runs and stole two bases.
Scott kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Poca came up short against Braxton County on Tuesday, falling 13-3.
Poca saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Preston Bonnett, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Landon Rawlings also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Scott pushed their record up to 6-1-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Poca, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
Poca's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Scott hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .372. It's a different story for Poca, though, as they've only averaged .232. Will they be able to contain Scott's hitters?
Everything went Scott's way against Poca in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Scott made off with a 29-5 win. Will Scott repeat their success, or does Poca has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
