Soccer Game Preview: North Johnston vs. Farmville Central

The North Johnston Panthers will square off against the Farmville Central Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

North Johnston managed to keep up with Princeton until halftime two weeks ago, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Panthers lost 5-1 to the Bulldogs. Having soared to a lofty six goals in the game before, North Johnston couldn't push the score so high this time.

Their goal came courtesy of Mia Davis, who's now up to 12 this season.

Meanwhile, Farmville Central entered their game against Washington on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Jaguars came up short against the Pam Pack, falling 6-0. Farmville Central fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against Washington since on Tuesday.

North Johnston's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 14-3-1. As for Farmville Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-3-1.

North Johnston took their win against Farmville Central in their previous matchup back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 6-0 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Jaguars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
