Volleyball Recap: Ella Clanton Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Green County

Meade County proved they can win big on Monday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Green County Dragons 3-2. For the Green Waves, this counts as revenge for the 2-0 win the Dragons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2018.

Meade County wouldn't go down easily and took Green County into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-21, 25-16, 18-25, 15-12.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Meade County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ella Clanton, who had 17 digs and four assists. That's the most digs Clanton has posted since back in October of 2024. Zoey Gonzales was another key player, getting 11 digs and two aces.

Meade County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for Green County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-9.

Meade County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Elizabethtown on the 11th. As for Green County, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Larue County on the 11th.
