Basketball Recap: Weaver Takes a Loss

Weaver was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 78-9 loss at the hands of the Palm Valley FIREBIRDS. The Monarchs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-0.

Palm Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Matteo Lam out in front who dropped a triple-double on 22 points, ten assists, and ten steals. Lam's afternoon made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Ratner, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 boards.

Weaver's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Palm Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Weaver will face off against Noli Indian at 3:30 p.m. on January 28th. As for Palm Valley, they will venture away from home to take on Desert Chapel at 6:00 p.m. on January 28th.
