Volleyball Recap: Castilleja Comes Up Short

Castilleja extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-3. They lost 3-0 to the Wilcox Chargers. The Gators were not able to make up for their defeat to the Chargers from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Graciela Navarro paced Castilleja's offense, picking up four kills. Navarro got some help from Amelie Bellemans and her 12 assists. Emily Shen controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

As for Wilcox, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-4 record. The contest marked their most dominant victory of the season so far.

Sienna Spencer had an outrageously good game as she had 18 digs and five aces. That's the most digs she has posted since back in October of 2024. Isha Bisht also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Coming up, Castilleja will square off against Design Tech at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wilcox, they will take on Cupertino at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup will give the Chargers their first taste of in-conference action this season.
