Volleyball Recap: North Brunswick Comes Up Short

The home team had won the previous four meetings between North Brunswick and South Brunswick, and South Brunswick kept the tradition alive. The Scorpions took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars on Monday. The Scorpions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cougars earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Brynn Austermiller paced North Brunswick's offense, picking up nine kills. Austermiller got some help from Chloe Stewart and her 21 assists. Stewart also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Addie Inskeep, racking up two apiece.

South Brunswick can attribute much of their success to Faye (Malin) Miller, who had nine digs and two assists.

North Brunswick's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for South Brunswick, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-4.

North Brunswick has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Topsail on the 23rd. As for South Brunswick, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against West Bladen on the 23rd.
