Baseball Game Preview: Big Rapids Cardinals vs. St. Francis Gladiators

The Big Rapids Cardinals will square off against the St. Francis Gladiators at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Big Rapids knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully St. Francis likes a good challenge.

Big Rapids' pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Tri County Area with a sharp 10-0 win. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Thursday St. Francis sidestepped Petoskey for a 2-1 victory. That's two games straight that the Gladiators have won by just one run.

St. Francis secured the win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Sam Wildfong, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Big Rapids' victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for St. Francis, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
