Basketball Recap: Wright City Comes Up Short

Wright City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-50 heartbreaker at the hands of the Elsberry Indians. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Indians from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Wright City's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Elsberry, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.

Wright City will take on Montgomery County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Montgomery County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Elsberry, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 88-59 defeat against Seckman on the 24th.
