Basketball Game Preview: Hardin-Jefferson Hawks vs. East Chambers Buccaneers

The Hardin-Jefferson Hawks and the East Chambers Buccaneers will face off at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest, having both just played. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Hardin-Jefferson comes in on six and East Chambers on 11.

Hardin-Jefferson not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since December 12th (when they won 61-30). They ended the year with a bang, routing Vidor 63-42.

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but East Chambers ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past Huntington 50-48. Given the Buccaneers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 204th, while the Red Devils are ranked 578th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

East Chambers' win bumped their record up to 17-2. As for Hardin-Jefferson, their victory bumped their record up to 14-9.

Everything went Hardin-Jefferson's way against East Chambers in their previous matchup back in December of 2019, as Hardin-Jefferson made off with a 72-52 win. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Buccaneers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
