It was a good run, but Bishop O'Connell unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Sunday. They lost 69-43 to the Bishop Ireton Cardinals. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Knights have suffered since February 28, 2024.

It was another big night for Amirah Anderson, who went 7 of 15 on her way to 20 points and three blocks for Bishop Ireton. Anderson's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nyla Brooks, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.

Bishop O'Connell's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Bishop Ireton, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.

Bishop O'Connell will face off against Our Lady of Good Counsel at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bishop Ireton, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Bishop Ireton Cardinals duke it out with the Archbishop Carroll Lions on Tuesday. One thing working in Bishop Ireton's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
