Basketball Recap: Woodsboro Comes Up Short

Woodsboro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 46-39 defeat to the Refugio Bobcats. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1440th, while the Bobcats are ranked 565th).

Woodsboro's loss dropped their record down to 5-19. As for Refugio, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woodsboro will challenge Three Rivers at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Refugio, they will face off against Port Aransas at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
