Illiana Christian waltzed into their contest on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They never let the Highland Trojans get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Vikings also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Luke Smith was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Illiana Christian's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Highland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Illiana Christian will take on Whiting at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Vikings are facing the Oilers at the right time seeing as the Oilers are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Highland, they will face off against Kankakee Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
