Basketball Recap: Umpqua Valley Christian Snags Ninth Win in Last Ten Games

Umpqua Valley Christian won the last time they faced Glendale and things went their way on Saturday too. The Umpqua Valley Christian Monarchs enjoyed a cozy 55-36 victory over the Glendale Pirates. Given the Monarchs' advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Pirates are ranked 254th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Umpqua Valley Christian has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points per game. As for Glendale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-12.

Umpqua Valley Christian will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against St. Paul at 5:30 p.m. Umpqua Valley Christian is on a five-game streak of home wins, St. Paul a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Glendale, they will venture away from home to take on Chiloquin at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
