Baseball Recap: Nash Central Now 10-3 over Last 13 Games

Nash Central's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to First Flight on Tuesday. The Bulldogs came out on top against the Roanoke Rapids Yellowjackets by a score of 9-6. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Caleb Cox tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Justin Langley was a standout: he scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Tyler Bowen was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases.

Nash Central is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Roanoke Rapids, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-6.

Nash Central will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Yellowjackets: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
