Baseball Recap: Scotia-Glenville Takes a Loss

Scotia-Glenville fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against South Glens Falls on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 2-1. The Tartans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 5-4.

Tyler Gray spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on nine hits.

At the plate, Casey Galluccio made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Scotia-Glenville has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.33 runs. As for South Glens Falls, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Scotia-Glenville will face off against Niskayuna at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Glens Falls, they will take on Hudson Falls at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
