Volleyball Game Preview: Paraclete Spirits vs. Cathedral Phantoms

The Paraclete Spirits will head out on the road to square off against the Cathedral Phantoms at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Thursday, Paraclete didn't have quite enough to beat La Salle and fell 3-2.

Paraclete took La Salle into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-23, 23-25, 25-21, 17-15.

Meanwhile, Cathedral came up short against La Salle on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-14, 25-15.

Paraclete's defeat dropped their record down to 14-16-1. As for Cathedral, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.

Paraclete was able to grind out a solid victory over Cathedral in their previous meeting two weeks ago, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spirits since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
