Football Recap: Bishop Canevin Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Bishop Canevin was riding high fresh off their 54-14 takedown of Serra Catholic last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Crusaders took a blow against the Fort Cherry Rangers on Friday, falling 56-19. The Crusaders haven't had much luck with the Rangers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Fort Cherry's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Matt Sieg led the charge by rushing for 235 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.2 yards per carry. Sieg is crushing it when it comes to rushing touchdowns: he's punched in at least two every time he's taken the field this season. Ryan Huey also helped out as he racked up 146 rushing yards.

Bishop Canevin's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-2. As for Fort Cherry, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Bishop Canevin and Fort Cherry should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Crusaders will face off against Monessen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (146 vs. 386). Meanwhile, Fort Cherry (ranked 92nd) will meet Shenango (ranked 414th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
