Bishop Canevin dropped down to 5-2 on Friday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins. They were outmatched by the Fort Cherry Rangers and fell 56-19. The Crusaders lost against the Rangers in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 49-34 score last time.

As for Fort Cherry, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0. Fans of they have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Fort Cherry's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Matt Sieg, who rushed for 235 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.2 yards per carry. Those 235 rushing yards gave Sieg a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Huey, who rushed for 146 yards and a pair of TDs on only 12 carries.

Bishop Canevin and Fort Cherry should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Crusaders will take on Monessen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (117 vs. 388). Meanwhile, Fort Cherry (ranked 125th) will meet Shenango (ranked 443rd) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
