Softball Recap: Hawken Hawks vs. Brush Arcs
It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Hawken ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They walked away with a 26-22 win over the Brush Arcs. The high-scoring effort was just what the Hawks needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.
Hawken got a massive performance out of Ally Whiting, who fired off two home runs, five runs, and five RBI while getting on base in six of her seven plate appearances. Those two home runs gave Whiting a new career-high. Aniela Skoczen was another key player, getting on base in five of her seven plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one triple.
Hawken now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Brush, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Coming up, Hawken will look to defend their home field on Monday against Beachwood at 4:30 p.m. As for Brush, they will venture away from home to face off against Chagrin Falls at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
