Recap: McAdams Bulldogs vs. Choctaw County Chargers
After flying high against the Nanih Waiya Warriors last Tuesday, the McAdams Bulldogs came back down to earth. McAdams opened the new year with a less-than-successful 67-59 defeat to Choctaw County. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Choctaw County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Caleb Cunningham led the charge by scoring 20 points along with six rebounds. The game was Cunningham's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrick Alston, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds.
McAdams' defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Choctaw County, they pushed their record up to 12-3 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McAdams will take on Velma Jackson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Velma Jackson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday. As for Choctaw County, they will be playing at home against Mooreville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mooreville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 207th, while Choctaw County is ranked 98th).
