Wantagh extended their postseason success on Friday against Wheatley. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Wildcats a 10-0 shutout. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Tom Wunderlich, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Ryan Tullo, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs.

Wantagh was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Wantagh has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. Having lost for the first time this season, Wheatley fell to 3-1.

As of now, neither Wantagh nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
