Recap: Osmond/Randolph Hawks vs. Stuart Broncos
After a string of three wins, the Osmond/Randolph Hawks's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Stuart by a score of 40-38. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Osmond/Randolph of the 43-28 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.
Osmond/Randolph's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sophie Gansebom, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Keli Aschoff, who scored six points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Even though they lost, Osmond/Randolph smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. This was only their 12th loss (out of 17 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Osmond/Randolph's loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Stuart, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-13.
Osmond/Randolph will take on Lutheran-Northeast at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Osmond/Randolph is ranked 232nd, while Lutheran-Northeast is ranked 217th). Stuart does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
