Basketball Recap: Mankato West Skates Past Albert Lea with Ease

Mankato West won against John Marshall last Friday with 57 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. The Mankato West Scarlets simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Albert Lea Tigers 57-21. That's more bragging rights for the Scarlets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Mankato West is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.6 points per game. As for Albert Lea, their defeat was their 24th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-16.

Mankato West will square off against Owatonna at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Owatonna will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Mankato West surely won't give up without a fight. As for Albert Lea, they will challenge Red Wing at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Red Wing's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests.
