Basketball Recap: Charles Turner's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Moss Point over Pascagoula

It was a proper cat-fight when Moss Point challenged Pascagoula on Friday. The Moss Point Tigers came up short against the Pascagoula Panthers, falling 66-43. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 196th, while the Panthers are ranked 12th).

Moss Point lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Charles Turner, who posted seven points. That's the most points Turner has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jujuan Nettles, who earned nine points and six rebounds.

Moss Point has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-19 record this season. As for Pascagoula, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-3.

Moss Point didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-39 win against Poplarville on the 3rd. Pascagoula has also already played their next matchup, a 66-51 victory against West Harrison on the 1st.
