Basketball Recap: Blair Takes a Loss

Blair managed to keep up with Bennington until halftime on Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Blair Bears came up short against the Bennington Badgers, falling 55-33. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Badgers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 55-43 loss last Wednesday.

When it comes to explaining why Blair lost, don't look at Addie Sullivan. Despite the final result, she posted 18 points. That's the most points Sullivan has posted since back in January. Kate Wulf was another key player, putting up nine points.

Bennington's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Presley Baca, who went 5-for-7 to rack up 14 points in addition to three steals and three blocks. Baca is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Harper Bohaboj, who shot 67% from the field on her way to 12 points along with five assists and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Blair and nudges their season record down to 15-11. As for Bennington, their victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-4.

Blair does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bennington, they will square off against Sidney at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Sidney will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Bennington surely won't give up without a fight.
