Softball Recap: Hershey Trojans vs. Elizabethtown Bears
After flying high against Central Dauphin East on Thursday, Hershey came back down to earth. The Trojans came up short against the Elizabethtown Bears on Friday, falling 9-2.
Payton Smith made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of McKinley Ebert, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Hershey's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Elizabethtown, they pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road.
Hershey and Elizabethtown should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Trojans (ranked 205th) will meet Gettysburg (ranked 465th) at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Elizabethtown will take on Palmyra at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (58 vs. 458).
