Basketball Recap: John Battle Comes Up Short

If John Battle was feeling good fresh off their 66-33 takedown of Ridgeview last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The John Battle Trojans fell 49-39 to the Union Bears on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 58-38 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

John Battle dropped their record down to 1-5 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Union, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. John Battle will be home for the holidays to greet Sullivan East at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Union, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Honaker at 8:00 p.m. on January 15, 2025.
