Basketball Recap: Jake Phelps' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Eldorado over Christopher

Eldorado lost against Christopher back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Eldorado Eagles took a 51-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Christopher Bearcats. The Eagles' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Eldorado's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jake Phelps, who went 5 of 11 en route to 13 points along with six boards and three steals. Maddex Rash was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Eldorado's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Christopher, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eldorado will take on Union County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Christopher, they will venture away from home to challenge Trico at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Christopher is facing Trico at the right time seeing as Trico is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
