League recap: Mooresville extends winning streak with victory over North Lincoln

4A/3A Conference 3 recap October 22, 2013

Mooresville added to the longest winning streak in 4A/3A Conference 3 this week by beating North Lincoln, 43-7. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.

Lake Norman led the league in scoring this week by notching 61 points on West Iredell. Josh Ladowski threw for 301 yards and 4 touchdowns and ran for 239 yards in the win.

The Wildcats' offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Ladowski chipped in 239 yards. Dylan Galbo helped Lake Norman's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 46 yards.

Corey Joyner had an awesome week catching the football as Lake Norman defeated the Warriors. He caught 5 passes for 215 yards.

Ladowski was a beast in the backfield as Rob McNeely's team bested West Iredell.

Joyner was the best receiver in the league this week as the Wildcats bested Mike Natoli's team. Joyner racked up 5 receptions for 215 yards. Galbo helped Lake Norman's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 46 yards.

Lake Norman's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Wildcats feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Ladowski has thrown for 2,244 yards and 21 touchdowns this season, while Joyner has 53 catches for 1,189 yards. Ladowski also leads the league in rushing with 1,415 yards.

Mooresville's Akease Rankin needs only 19 yards against the Warriors next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Rankin has rushed for 981 yards on 114 carries so far this year.

An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Alexander Central takes on South Iredell. At the moment, the Cougars are in sixth, while the Vikings are in first.
