Basketball Game Preview: Mountain View Toros vs. Mesa Jackrabbits

Mountain View hasn't had much luck against Mesa recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Mountain View Toros will venture away from home to take on the Mesa Jackrabbits at 5:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Wednesday, Mountain View took their matchup with ease, bagging a 65-13 win over Corona del Sol. The Toros have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Mesa had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.8 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They took down the Mountain Lions 58-42.

Mesa has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Mountain View, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-7.

Mountain View came up short against Mesa in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 48-35. Can Mountain View avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
