Preview: Moorcroft Wolves vs. Newcastle Dogies
Moorcroft is on a three-game streak of home losses, Newcastle a six-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The Moorcroft Wolves will take on the Newcastle Dogies at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Wyoming (Moorcroft is ranked 59th, while Newcastle is ranked 37th).
On Tuesday, Moorcroft came up short against Wright and fell 50-37.
Moorcroft's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Elise Kuhbacher, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and two steals, and Natalee Scribner who scored seven points along with six rebounds and three steals. Jadyn Lubkeman was another key contributor, scoring five points along with two blocks.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Newcastle beat Rawlins 41-35 on Friday. The win was just what Newcastle needed coming off of a 73-32 loss in their prior match.
Moorcroft has not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season. As for Newcastle, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
