Soccer Game Preview: Mayfield vs. Organ Mountain

The Mayfield Trojans are taking a road trip to challenge the Organ Mountain Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Mayfield is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Gadsden, who was ranked tenth at the time (Mayfield was ranked 15th). The Trojans came up short against the Panthers on Thursday, falling 4-1. Mayfield were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 3-0.

Meanwhile, after a string of eight wins, Organ Mountain's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Centennial by a score of 1-0. The contest was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Organ Mountain couldn't quite close it out.

Mayfield's loss dropped their record down to 10-3-1. As for Organ Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4.
