Softball Game Preview: New Waverly Bulldogs vs. Trinity Tigers

The New Waverly Bulldogs will take on the Trinity Tigers at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (New Waverly has four straight victories, Trinity has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

New Waverly's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over Trinity. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

Ashylnn Sisk was a standout: she scored a run while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (two). Kaelynn Stewart was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Sisk wasn't the only one working in the hit department: New Waverly kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive games.

Trinity's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for New Waverly, they now have a winning record of 7-6-2.
