Softball Game Preview: East Forsyth Eagles vs. West Forsyth Titans

East Forsyth and West Forsyth are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Eagles will challenge the Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as East Forsyth comes in on six and West Forsyth on three.

While East Forsyth's victory against Glenn wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles won by a run and slipped past the Bobcats 2-1.

Allie Cox spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, East Forsyth saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aaliyah Long, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, West Forsyth gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They put the hurt on Davie with a sharp 14-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won 14 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

East Forsyth's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-9. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for West Forsyth, their victory bumped their record up to 20-1.

East Forsyth might still be hurting after the 15-5 loss they got from West Forsyth when the teams last played on April 1st. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
