Basketball Recap: Ferguson Takes a Loss

Ferguson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. The matchup between them and the American Patriots didn't end well, with the Ferguson Falcons falling 76-58. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

Derrius Black was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 16 rebounds for American. Another player making a difference was Angel Torres, who went 7 of 10 en route to 15 points.

Ferguson's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for American, their record now sits at 9-3.

Ferguson will take on Mater Brickell Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ferguson knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Mater Brickell Academy likes a good challenge. As for American, they and Florida Christian will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played.
