China Spring had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They strolled past the Franklin Lions with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 42-28. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered a 46-30 loss the last time these two teams met.

CHRISHON GREGORY had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 82 yards and one TD.

Coming up, China Spring will challenge Bastrop at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Franklin, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lorena at 7:30 p.m. on the 12th.
