Bishop Manogue extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping them down to 1-3. They fell 31-23 to the Pittsburg Pirates. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Miners came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked fifth in Nevada, while the Pirates are ranked 31st in California).

Bishop Manogue lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Brandon Mann, who rushed for 36 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 132 yards on seven of 15 attempts. A healthy portion of Mann's aerial production (83 yards to be exact) went to Nate Simmons.
