Basketball Recap: Moriah's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Moriah had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 64-43 margin over the Schroon Lake Wildcats. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 21 points or more this season.

Moriah's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cooper Allen, who posted 17 points and eight boards. The game was Allen's 17th in a row with at least ten points. Chase McGinness was another key player, putting up 11 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals.

Moriah smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Moriah pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Schroon Lake, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season.

Moriah will challenge Saranac at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Moriah is facing Saranac at the right time seeing as Saranac is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Schroon Lake, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 64-61 victory against Seton Catholic Central on the 16th.
