Baseball Recap: Central Comes Up Short

Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kirkwood Pioneers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pioneers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on Saturday.

Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Kirkwood, the win keeps they at an undefeated 4-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central will head out to challenge Kennett at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Kirkwood, they will face off against Marquette at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Marquette's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Kirkwood's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
