League recap: Pullman stuns Cheney in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Pullman, who took down 58th ranked Cheney, 29-26. David Ungerer ran for 137 yards and caught 6 passes for 56 yards during the win.

The Greyhounds moved up to 91 from 127 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 2A Great Northern. Pullman was able to move up by defeating the Blackhawks 29-26.

Dan Lucier's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Mason Petrino threw for 119 and 2 touchdowns and Justin Pintak had 60 yards receiving. On the ground Ungerer chipped in 137 yards. Ungerer helped Pullman's passing attack out by catching 6 balls for 56 yards.

The Greyhounds' dynamic duo of Petrino and Pintak proved to be unstoppable against Cheney, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.

Ryan Adams was a key player and the best on defense this week as Clarkston fell to East Valley. The 5-foot-11 senior nabbed 2 interceptions.

Ungerer was a passing and rushing force as Pullman defeated Jason Williams' team. Ungerer's key target this week was Pintak, who caught 3 passes for 60 yards.

The Bantams' Bruno Foust and Adams have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Foust has thrown for 871 yards this season, while Adams, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 20 catches for 373 yards. The Greyhounds' Ungerer leads the league in rushing yards with 606.

As it stands, the Knights are in fourth, while Colville is in second.

Pullman made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,458 from 6,017. The improvement was the result of a 29-26 victory over the Blackhawks last week.
