Basketball Recap: Walhalla Sets Scoring Season-High Against Chapman

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Walhalla). They came out on top against the Chapman Panthers by a score of 76-67 on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Razorbacks as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Walhalla's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jack Williams led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. With that strong performance, Williams is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. Tyler Lusk was another key player, going 5 of 9 on his way to 15 points and five assists.

Walhalla was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January.

Chapman's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Colt McAllister, who posted 21 points and five rebounds. McAllister continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Grayden Humphries, who put up 19 points and five assists.

Walhalla's victory bumped their record up to 3-9. As for Chapman, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-6.

Walhalla will take on Seneca in a tournament on Friday. One thing working in Seneca's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests. As for Chapman, they will welcome Blue Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Chapman is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.3 points per game this season.
