Softball Recap: Rockwood Find Success

Rockwood won the last time they faced McConnellsburg and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Rockets came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 10-5.

Sydney Beals spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on 11 hits.

At the plate, Rockwood let Addie Barkman and Miley Pletcher run wild. Barkman went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Pletcher went 2-for-5 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most doubles Pletcher has posted since back in March. Taylor Demchak also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Rockwood's win bumped their record up to 4-8. As for McConnellsburg, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Rockwood wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 6-2 defeat against Windber on the 24th. McConnellsburg has also already played their next game (against Berkeley Springs), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
