Preview: Danvers Falcons vs. Bishop Fenwick Crusaders
The Danvers Falcons will stay at home for another game and welcome the Bishop Fenwick Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Danvers suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Monday. They took a serious blow against Peabody Veterans Memorial, falling 71-44. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Danvers in their matchups with Peabody Veterans Memorial: they've now lost eight in a row.
Despite their defeat, Danvers saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Logan Metivier, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two blocks, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Scarpaci, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Bishop Fenwick's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on January 5th after their third straight loss. They took a 62-46 bruising from Cardinal Spellman. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bishop Fenwick has scored all season.
Danvers has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Bishop Fenwick, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Danvers strolled past Bishop Fenwick when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a score of 62-47. Will Danvers repeat their success, or does Bishop Fenwick have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
