Baseball Recap: Lancaster Takes Down Middlesex in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Lancaster had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the Middlesex Chargers 8-2 on Tuesday. Considering the Red Devils have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Braden George spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Trevor Pittman was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Thomas Major, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Lancaster has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for Middlesex, they moved to 10-9 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Lancaster nor the Chargers have any future games scheduled.
