Softball Recap: Heritage Academy's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to 11

Heritage Academy waltzed into their contest on Thursday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. They were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Santa Cruz Valley Dust Devils. The result was nothing new for the Heroes, who have now won 12 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Sieana Soltero made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Heritage Academy let Rowan Asanovich and Christina Martinez run wild. Asanovich went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one RBI, while Martinez went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. That's the most RBI Martinez has posted since back in March. Amaya LaDrigue was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Heritage Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Santa Cruz Valley only posted an OBP of .259.

Heritage Academy pushed their record up to 16-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Santa Cruz Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-6 record this season.

Heritage Academy has already played their next contest (against Phoenix Country Day), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Santa Cruz Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 19-1 win against Arizona Lutheran Academy on the 14th.
