Baseball Recap: St. Aloysius' Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

St. Aloysius had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Copiah Academy Colonels. For the Flashes, this counts as revenge for the 11-2 win the Colonels walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Walt Andrews made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, Keller Bradley was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. St. Aloysius is undefeated when Bradley posts two or more runs, but 4-7 otherwise.

St. Aloysius pushed their record up to 13-7 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Copiah Academy, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-11.

St. Aloysius will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Colonels: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
