Football Recap: Make It Seven in a Row for Stoneman Douglas

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Stoneman Douglas on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Cooper City Cowboys out of the water with a 48-0 final score. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Cowboys are ranked 256th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Stoneman Douglas to victory were Samantha Calavetta and Courtney Heymach. Calavetta threw for 210 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76% of her passes, while Heymach gained 51 total yards and three touchdowns.

Stoneman Douglas didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Daria Boykin, Caitlin Taylor, and Diana Doherty picked up one apiece. Boykin got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
