Recap: General McLane Lancers vs. Cathedral Prep Ramblers

If the General McLane Lancers were feeling good off their 74-32 takedown of the Chautauqua Lake Thunderbirds last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. General McLane received a tough blow on Tuesday as they fell 69-53 to Cathedral Prep. General McLane has struggled against Cathedral Prep recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Cathedral Prep's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amaree Pickens, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Pickens is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Derek Galla was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.

General McLane has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season. As for Cathedral Prep, they pushed their record up to 10-9 with that win, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. General McLane will face off against Fort LeBoeuf at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. General McLane is facing Fort LeBoeuf at the right time seeing as Fort LeBoeuf is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Cathedral Prep, they will head out on the road to face off against Meadville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Cathedral Prep's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 14 games.
