Baseball Recap: Port St. Joe Triumphs

Port St. Joe won the last time they faced Rutherford and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Port St. Joe Tiger Sharks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Rutherford Rams. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tiger Sharks.

Jacob Hensley was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Baylor Partie was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Cole Williams, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Port St. Joe's record now sits at 2-0.

Looking ahead, Port St. Joe will be playing at home against Marianna at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rutherford, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they will face off against Walton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
